Eram Girls Degree College

Eram Girls Degree College, Indira Nagar, is one of the most prestigious and preferred colleges for girls in Lucknow. Located in the heart of the new city, the impressive building of the college has been a well-known center of modern, secular education.

Established in the year 1997, EGDC was recognized by the University of Lucknow as one of its affiliate colleges in the same year. The intention of the founders was to provide a secure and healthy environment of education to females. Since its inception, the college has maintained a tradition of learning and culture – quietly but profoundly contributing to the growth of the refined legacy of Lucknow.

The college that was started off with 1 UG course soon caught pace with other institutes of the city in terms of popularity and esteem. Today, the college boasts of:

i) 3 undergraduate courses (B.A., B.Sc. & B.Com.);

ii) 3 Post-Graduate courses (M.Com, M.A. English, and M.A. Sociology); and

iii) 4 professional teacher-training courses (B.Ed., M.Ed., B.El.Ed and D.El.Ed).

To facilitate and enhance the knowledge of the students, there is highly qualified faculty in all departments. The faculty has been kept diverse to meet different learning choices of the students: there are expert Urdu and Computer Science mentors as well. Overall, the college is catering to a wide range of subject choices and constantly working towards raising its standards of education.

To date, the college has successfully conducted a National Seminar; organized, participated and won in inter-college competitions; and regularly observes and celebrates important events throughout the year.
