Admission Procedure

For admission in the undergraduate programs of Eram Institutions i.e. Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Commerce, candidates must score above the cut-off percentage in the qualifying examination. Admissions can be done either by the University counselling procedure or through applica- tion in the institution followed by an interview.

ELIGIBILITY

No one shall be admitted to undergraduate course unless he/she has passed one of the following examinations:

  • Intermediate or equivalent examination of any recognized Board or University.
  • Alim/Fazil examinations of Arabic & Persian Examination, Board of U.P. Allahabad or any equivalent examination.

Procedure

  • The application form and the prospectus can be obtained from the Admission counter and the duly filled form must be submitted in the institute before fixed date.
  • A recent passport size (6 cm x 5cm.) front pose coloured photograph must be pasted on admission form & 6 more photos must be attached with the admission form.
  • The original Transfer Certificate (T.C.) must be submitted at the time of admission.
  • Attested copies of marksheets and original Character Certificate of the candidate must be submited.
  • The self attested copies of High School and Intermediate marksheets and certificates, Character Certificate and original Transfer Certificate (T.C.) shall not be returned in any case.
  • The receipt issued to the student from the office at the time of admission must be preserved, and may be demanded at any time for verification.
  • The fees once paid would not be returned in any case nor it will be transferred to any other institute.
  • In case the Identity Card is lost, duplicate will be issued only on applying for the same along with an application to this effect with a fee of Rs. 200/-. All the students are required to always wear their identity cards with them in the campus.
  • All students are required to attain 75% attendance in all papers (practical + theory) in order to entitle themselves for appearing in the University Examination. Those who fail to put up the required attendance will be detained and will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
  • The names of all such students who fail to attend the college for a continuous period of one month, without prior permission or supportive Medical Certificate in case of sickness shall be struck off from the rolls of the College (ie. from the Attendance Register etc.), unless their absence from the college is condoned.
  • Such students whose names are struck off, will be allowed to be re-admitted only after payment of re-admission charges and permission from the administration.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

Student may opt any three subjects out of 12 offered by the College. The group would be decided by the candidates who should choose one subject from each group and the remaining one subject from any of the two groups.

In the third year the student has to leave one subject. Transfer of subject from one to another is permissible within ten days from the date of the commencement of classes.

  • 5 Marks out of 30 in each practical are reserved for Laboratory Book.
  • Written papers are of 3 hours duration and 4 hours are fixed for practicals.
  • Only those students would be eligible for admision who have passed the High School and Intermdiate examination with the following subjects with minimum 40% marks for General/OBC candidates and 33% for SC/ST.

Candidates seeking admission in B. Sc. Ist year may apply for the admission with the following subjects combination which are as following:

Eligibility For:

(A) ZBC Group (Zoology, Botany & Chemistry) Students who have passed their Intermediate (bio.) or equivalent with minimum 40% of marks may apply for this group.

(B) PCM Group (Physics, Chemistry & Maths.) Students who have passed their Intermediate with (math.) or equivalent with minimum 40% of marks may apply for this group.

For SC & ST students minimum marks are 33%

Note:

1. The application form and prospectus can be purchased from the office counter and the duly filled form should be submitted in the office during the fixed period.

2. Candidates may apply for one or more than one group of Science on separate application forms with the restriction that Intermediate (bio), cannot apply for PCM, and vice versa.

3. Candidates applying for admission to B. Sc. 1st Year will have to appear before the Inter- view Board for their admission.

Admission Procedure for Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)-

It is a course which enables students to be adept with Managerial Skills & competence, accounting principles, export/import, trade/business, taxation laws and economic policies in the domain of

Eligibility For:
  • Intermediate or equivalent examination with Commerce/Economics/Maths as one of the main subjects with minimum 40% marks for General/OBC and 33% for SC/ST.

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

A full time 2 year – 4 Semester (6 months) course with aggregate total marks of 2150 are divided equally throughout the duration of the course. It is a professional pre-service teacher education programme. The course is aimed to provide train- ing of Teachers for Secondary Schools. The course is as per rules & regulations framed by the Govt. of U.P., The National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) and the concerned University. At the end of each semester, candidates shall have to appear for examination. The course contains theory, practice in teaching, internship, field work, professional work & other prescribed activities.

Eligibility:

Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Science/Social Science/Humanities, B.Tech. with specialization in Science & Math with 50% marks or any qualifiction equivalent thereto

Reservation: As per rules of Central/State Govt.

Admission Procedure:

Admission shall be on merit basis of marks obtained in qualifying exam and/or in entrance examination or any other selection process as per policy of State Govt. and the College Management.

Semester:

I & II Semester of B.Ed. Programme is 4½ months long excluding Examination and Semester Break etc.

II & IV Semester of B.Ed. Programme is of same duration.

Attendance:

In theory and internship classes the attendance should be atleast 75% while in Educational Psychology Practical Classes, Practice in Teaching (Internship) it should be 100%. Defaulters shall not be allowed to appear in the examination.

Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

B.El.Ed. Course is a 4 year professional degree programme of teacher education offered after Senior Secondary. The course is to prepare students for a wide range of professional and academic options in elementary education including teaching in elementary schools.

Eligibility:

Candidates should have cleared the Higher Secondary Examination or any other Examination recognised as equivalent there to with 50% marks.

Intake: A unit of 50 students.

Diploma in Elementry Educaiton (D.El.Ed.)

This is a regular 2 years (full time 4 semesters) basic co-ed teacher training course and is carried under the guidance and norms of the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi. Director, Northern Regional Committee (NRC) takes care of the Northern Region of the country and is approved and managed by DIET of concerned district and the Examination Regulatory Authority, Allahabad (U.P.)

Intake:400 Seats (Lucknow)
Eligibility: 300 Seats (Barabanki)

The basic unit is of 50 students with an additional unit of same no. of students. Candidates with at least 50% marks (subject to change by the Govt.) in the Higher Secondary (+2) or its Equivalent Examination and for OBC/SC/ST is 45%. Reservation of S.C./ S.T. is as per Govt. norms and Management of the College. Syllabus of the course is available in the department.

Admission Procedure:

An Application Form is to be obtained from college counter on cash payment of Rs. 1000/-or DD of Rs. 1100/- (for outside candidates.) The form is to be submitted in the college duly completed, enclosing copies of all certificates, and marksheets of High School/Intermediate with 3 passport size photographs. Besides this, two Character Certificates from Gazetted Officers, a Health Certificate from CMO and an NOC for the Domicile is also to be submitted with the application form. Eram Girls Degree College, being a self-financed Minority Institution, total seats are filled by the college itself, based however, on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying Entrance Examination held by the college.

Master of Arts (M.A.)

Eligibility:

A candidate will be eligible for Admission to Postgraduate Courses if he/she has completed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. with 10+2+3 system from any University recognized by University Grants Commission.

In case the candidate seeks admission in the subject, which he/she has studied in all the three years of graduation the eligibility will be minimum 45% of marks.

In case the candidate seeks admission in the subject, which he/she has studied in the first two years of graduation but not in the final year, the eligibility will be minimum 55% of marks.

In case the candidate seeks admission in the subject which he/she has not studied in any year of graduation, eligibility will be minimum 60% of marks.

In case the eligibility in the subject is “Any Graduate” the candidate has to obtain minimum 50% of marks in graduation. This applies to subjects which are not available in University of Lucknow at graduation level.

Master of Commerce (M.Com.)

The course arms students with all the knowledge and skill that are needed for building a successful career in the coveted profession of Accounting & Finance.

Eligibility:

B.Com./B.Com. (Hons.) from a recognized University. The minimum marks should be 45% for general candidates and 40% for reserved categories. Students with B.B.A. or B.M.S. or similar professional qualifications with Mathematics & Economics subjects can also apply.

Intake: 50 Seats

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

Through special efforts of the Management and Staff approval of M.Ed. Course has been obtained from NRC/NCTE New Delhi since the session 2016-17. Master of education (M.Ed.) is a two year professional course in the field of Teacher Education aiming to prepare Teacher Educators.

Intake: 50 Seats

Basic Unit is of 50 students. Candidates having B.Ed., B.A.-B.Ed., B.Sc.-B.Ed., B.El.-B.Ed., & D.El.Ed. with an undergraduate Degree or a recognized BTC or LT diploma or equivalent with 50% marks in aggregate from a University established by law and recognized by the the University Grants Commission can apply. The candidates appearing in B.Ed. (Final) examination may also apply.

Reservation of candidates is as per Govt. Norms. The Course details are available in the University Ordinance. Each candidate is required to attend all lectures and activities. Minimum attendance should not be less than 75%. On medical grounds, Dean may allow relaxation further of 15% subject to production of a Medical Certificate from CMO. Other defaulter candidates shall be detained and their list would be displayed on the notice board.

Mode of Admission:

Intake shall be filled on the basis of merit and interview as per University norms. No separate intimation letter would be sent to the candidate.

The list of selected candidates for admission through counselling will be displayed on the notice board/website of the University.

However, an intimation letter shall also be sent to the selected candidates only, communicating the date of counselling on which they have to report for completion of formalities for admission.

NRI/ left over seats shall be filled on the basis of the merit of the qualifying examination.

A 10 days Educational Excursion outside Uttar Pradesh is essential. It counts for Final M.Ed. Examination. Candidates are not allowed to take any job while pursuing this programe.

Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (B.U.M.S.)

This is a 4 ½ years B.U.M.S. course, coupled with 1 year compulsory Internship is available at Eram Unani Medical College, Kursi Road, Gudamba, Lucknow. Admission is on the basis of a Com- bined Entrance Test held by NEET.

Intake: 60 Seats

Internship Training:

After passing final year examination all students must undergo one year unpaid rotatory intern- ship training in the following disciplines in a Hospital.

Internal:
  • 5 months in the department of Unani Medi cines (Moalejat)
  • 2 months in the department of surgery (Jarahat)
  • 2 months in the department of Preventive & Social Medicine (Tahaffuz Samaji Tib)
  • 1 month in the department of ENT & Opthal mology (Azn, Anaf, Halaq wa Amraz-e-Ain)
  • 5) 2 months in the department of Gynae. Obs. & Paediatrics = 12 months (Amraz-e-Niswan, Qabalat wa Atfal)
Eligibility Criteria:
  • NEET is the National level entrance examination for admission to Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery. The interested aspirants must essen- tially fulfill the eligibility criteria of NEET as speci- fied by the National Testing Agency.
  • Candidates must qualify in class 12th or equiva- lent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biolo- gy as the core subjects.
  • Working knowledge of Urdu of Matric or equiva- lent standards (Adeeb, Adeeb Mahir, Molvi, Munshi) is essential.
  • The qualifying marks to be obtained in Class 12th must be 50% for general category candidates, while the reserved category aspirants must secure at least 45%.
  • Candidates of 17 years and above are allowed to register for National Entrance Examination.
  • As per the orders of the apex Court, candidates who are 25 years and above are provisionally permitted to appear in NEET for admission to BUMS courses subject to final outcome of said matter pending in the Court.
  • The candidate should select Eram Unani Medical College at the time of counselling.

Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm.)

This is a 2 year course, associated with UPBTE and recognized by AICTE/PCI.

ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA: (FOR D. PHARMA COURSE)
  • Should pass 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathas as compulsory subject.
  • Minimum 45% for General category in PCM/PCB & maximum age limit is 30 yrs.
  • Minimum 40% for OBC/SC/ST in PCM/PCB & maximum age limit is 33 yrs (Also applicable for physical handicapped & female candidates)
  • The U.P. state Pre “Pharmacy entrance test (PPHT) to be qualified for the admission. All admissions are performed under the counseling organized by the Board of Technical Education, U.P.
  • Diploma in Pharmacy holders with minimum 50% is eligible for direct admission in 2nd year of 4th Year Course.
